This Simulated Patient Encounter maps to Scenario PED 33 – Kyle Reeves – Cystic Fibrosis Pulmonary Exacerbation – Adolescent – Management of Respiratory Arrest on the Elsevier Evolve Platform

Kyle Reeves, a 16-year-old Caucasian male with a history of cystic fibrosis, was admitted with fever, shortness of breath, and wheezing. Sputum cultures were positive for Pseudomonas and the patient was placed in droplet and contact isolation. During this scenario, students will have the opportunity to provide emergency care for a pediatric patient.
